I concluded its dial is original based on my mediocre knowledge...but I'd love to hear from other UG fans.

    Thanks!!

    FYI, What I checked:

Swiss T = Tritium on dial and hands
    Evenly distributed minute track
    Replaced Crown ;(

I would like to see more picture but in a quick glance:

Dial not in the best conditions but looks good, the crown is wrong, the crystal is not original and the minute hand looks wrong (too long)

Sorry to be flippant, but I'm grateful that we didn't have to see what you would have bought had you been impatient.

More to the point, if you were willing to wait three months before pulling the trigger, why on earth didn't you ask these questions beforehand?

Is it a sarcasm or sth? I don't get it...

Thanks, is the original crystal supposed to be cyclops?
Considering the differences (hands, crown), is it a bad deal for $540?

    Yes, sarcasm.

You waited "patiently" to buy a poor example of the model, then asked questions about its authenticity and price after making the purchase?

I am typically sympathetic to inexperienced collectors, but this approach makes no sense at all.

Got it, well... I spotted this item at 4AM, when I woke up for water. I happend to turn up my phone to find this, when the bidding will be ended in 2 mins.

The bidding price wasn't high much and I know average bidding price for Polerouter Date is ~$900, I just bid for $540 (due to crown)

the purchase is already done. but I just can't wait to judge my decision... That's the story.

The original crystal should have a trapezoidal window or (much) more rare could have a round loupe. Like this:

    Or this:

According to price, i'll can only say that for 540, and if you could live with a patinated dial, a replaced crystal and a replaced crown, i had something better for you (ss, correct hands, better movement, better looking crown...)

Well if that is the story, then I hope that you will learn some important lessons from it.

To wait patiently for three months, then bid impulsively on a watch solely because its price is significantly lower than the "average" cost, is like attending a university and quitting long before graduation because you decide, instead, to support yourself playing the lottery.

    Hmm.. Lesson learnt.
    1. Do you have deals for me? (now or in the near future?)
    2. what do you mean by 'better movement'? (like the one without rusts?)

1 - I'm not trying to sell you nothing (now or in the near future), you already bought your watch, but, for 540, i had something better.
2 - In better shape, compare:

@lonemian I would say you could have done better and dug around more in the sales section of this forum (and other forums). But hey, we all make a few mistakes. I certainly have. Thinking it's a good deal and not done enough research. So we all learn.

That said, good condition Polerouters are getting harder to acquire, and I see their prices creeping up...

@lonemian, we all been there at some time, we all made mistakes like yours (and worse, much worse) and, even after years of colecting i think that nobody in this hobby can say that is free from making a mistake or a misjudgement in a purchase.

You made mistake, let's face it. You already know that. It happens. What, maybe, you don't know yet is that you never gonna like that watch, everytime that look at it you gonna see how wrong it is. Please, don't try to restore it, you just gonna waste time and spend more money, without satisfactory resultas

Right now, imo, the best move is trying sell it. Recover a part of the money and swallow the loss, if any.

Unfortunately yes. condition matters even more on affordable watches as the restauration cost will far exceed its potential value. i would invest more, you better sell it and buy another watch in good condition, after checking condition and authenticity with savy forum members who are always very helpful.
