It’s kind of sad really. From my own perspective, I’ve quite a few (21) solid gold three hand watches that either need work and/ or don’t align with current tastes (incl 14 Omega). They were all most likely special buys at one time. Considering discussing their scrap value with my local jeweller.

Perhaps they would make a great project to restore one by one.
You have 9/10ths of the work already completed ie good dials, cases and mostly with good serviceable hands, just the last mile which is the easiest, service and repair.
Thanks for the upbeat, positive comments - in fairness there’s a lot of work and cost to get those watches up and “running”. I might retain one or two only and in fairness I do have other more desirable vintage gold Omegas - but I’m definitely more of a steel chronograph fan!

Ah seems a real shame for those to go into the melt. Some nice watches there.
