David, you certainly get the award for most frequent contributor to the cause. Thanks so much. I’m hoping for a few more contributions from others before I do my next match.

Thank you so much for doing this!

I am so grateful that I can contribute. And so humbled by how much I take for granted...

Maybe for the next few weeks we ask newbies to contribute if they want answers to their questions.
Even if it’s only 1 dollar each.

Good evening all. I just matched the most recent $325 dollars in contributions at $0.25 per $1 contributed for an additional contribution of $82. The fund balance now stands at $7,020. Just a reminder that I will continue to match new contributions at $0.25 per $1 contributed until I have reached a maximum match of $1,250. I am waiting for the latest update from Alex's mother, Martha, but the most recent information that I have from about a week ago is that Alex is making very slow progress, but nonetheless still improving. I'll post more when I have a further update.
Regards to all, -Greg

Thanks again for doing this, Greg. You have banked some serious karma points.

Hopefully Alex and guest (Martha perhaps?) can come to our annual holiday event in Baltimore. I know that may be a haul for him but it would be nice to have him with us for what feels like a tradition of which he has been a part.

Perhaps if his accompanying guest brings his Subaru they can take part in the Porsche bashing along with the other Subaru snobs. I’ll be the lone BMW in the middle that doesn’t fit in with either 😞

Thanks, James. It's no big deal. I'm just trying to leave the world a little better than I found it, a philosophy that my family members try to live by. I do hope that Alex and a member of his family will be able to attend the G2G. I guess we'll see. My understanding is that Alex can walk with a cane, but his speech and ability to understand written language are still pretty severely affected. I would imagine that he also probably tires pretty easily.

Oooh, this really caught my eye... My car is just a couple weekends and a set of new tires from being back on the road...

It’s about friggin’ time!! My M5 hasn’t left the garage in over a year (battery tender+ fuel stabilizer) and is covered in filth- so I guess now I’ll have to find the time to clean it up…and drive it around a bit to make sure the critters didn’t chew on anything 🙄

My little drive and contribution to Alex has maybe not been a success,
but I managed to sell/give away 4 straps!
That sums up to a total of 23 $ (with some rounding up), and I promised to double it, so a total amount of 69 $!

Thanks to @Jim_ and @UNLucky !

Thanks to all for the recent contributions. I have been ill with the flu for the past week and haven't felt well enough to send out the thank you notes to our most recent contributors nor have I had a chance to touch base with Martha and get the latest update for Alex. I'll try to attend to those matters in the next few days. In the meantime, my apologies for the delay. Thanks to all, -Greg

Good morning all. I just matched the most recent $294 dollars in contributions at $0.25 per $1 contributed for an additional contribution of $74. The fund balance now stands at $7,388. Just a reminder that I will continue to match new contributions at $0.25 per $1 contributed until I have reached a maximum match of $1,250. I plan to close the fund at the end of November, so we have about six weeks left to reach the goal of $10,000. Let's continue to do all we can to reach that goal and help Alex get back on his feet. Thanks to all who have so generously contributed and made this campaign possible. Regards to all, -Greg

Just an update for all, the plan was to hopefully present Alex with the kind donations from this amazing collective at the Mid Atlantic G2G in early December (which he attended last year) but last Greg spoke with Martha the possibly of Alex being up to attending this year was not great. In lieu of his attendance, Greg will send the GFM proceeds to Martha to assist with his expenses and we will send Alex the swag he would have gotten for attending.
We are still 3 weeks out from the festivities so plenty of time for anyone to help meet the goal.

I have the privilege to having Alex as a friend on IG and, according to his mom, is "getting better one day at a time." She's typing for him still but know that he's loving all the support we've shown him.
