This past week I went to Mexico and wore a Seiko 5 Sport diver that I picked up on eBay a month or two ago. I didn't have a terribly high opinion of Seikos I just knew they had a reputation of being fairly dependable, rugged, and affordable so I thought that it'd make a good beater for vacation. I wore it for a solid week, Thursday to Thursday and I took it off last night. This evening I noticed it was still running so I checked it against my atomic clock for fun. I was surprised by its accuracy, my $50 watch was less than thirty seconds off after wearing it for a week. I'm much more impressed by Seiko now than I was a week ago.

Pleasant surprises seem to be in short supply. Glad you had one...must be nice.

Seiko is excellent value. Now quick someone go make a thread asking if you could only own one and a half Seikos, which ones it'd be.
