    Hi All,
Though some of you might like to see my latest addition. It's a solid platinum Deville Rattrapante :) Yes, it's heavy but I kind of just don't care [emoji23]. One of 107 made in 2007. Apologies for the unimaginative wrist shot!

I'm not into the formal stuff. But that is a great looking watch. Congrats.

I see so many watches on here that it takes something pretty amazing to stop me in my tracks.
    That is stunning.
Never before have I mentioned the word grail, as I think its a bit naff, but an exception could be made here.
    Lucky bugger, enjoy it.

Thanks OmegaCard and Benolio! Cosd, I was distracted too by Megan haha.

I've always liked the Rattrapante function in chronographs but have not had the opportunity before to acquire one. It was just blind luck that it happened to be this model.

    That's a beautiful watch.

Is the platinum alloyed with anything to make it more scratch-resistant? I'd be petrified of scratching that beauty.

Thanks ahartfie. The platinum is 95% pure, I'm not sure what the other 5% is. Platinum is harder than gold and silver though so it's naturally a little more resistant. Gold watches mark very easily even though they are only 75% pure (18k)

Maybe someone with a jewellery background can comment on the 5%?

Most platinum alloys for the trade are alloyed with iridium, but also ruthenium and cobalt are sometimes used. I can't see anything in Omega's documentation with a quick search that identifies the 5% in their PT950 alloy, but most likely it's iridium.
