IMG_1644.JPG whilst most other Daytona's are appreciating, the platinum seems to have taken a large hit with second hand ones changing hands for £35 to £40k from a £55k retail, I personally love the playtona but just wonder what the prices will plateau at ? Or have they already done so and perhaps will see a rise? Your thoughts........

Little known and priced outside what most people want to pay. I’ve seen 2nd Hand a little lower then that.

I love the piece, looks great on my wrist. Hate the bracelet, feels cheap and unfinished for some reason. The edges feel to sharp in the center links.

For the price, I’d rather have three stainless steel versions.

The 116506 is amazing and is the modern Rolex to own. No other reference has the presence and the brown/glacial blue has to be seen in person to be appreciated. I made the mistake of wearing it sized (friend has same size wrist add me) and I was hooked. I've never regretted the purchase as I bought it "right." Most PMs aren't investments with big residual value so depreciation is very normal.

Did your bracelet break in or did the center links feel stay feeling sharp.

    Grats awesome piece.

    I'm hooked too.
I was at Road America watching the Indy cars
sitting in my favorite spot and I see one of the
spotters behind me wearing a Rolex and saw the
bezel was brown, hmmm. Then I recognized who was
wearing it. Bobby Rahal. He was spotting for his son,
Graham. I took a clandestine picture and texted it to
my son(he inherited the bug), asking what kind of
Daytona it was. He texted me back the Description
and I laughed. Then bet myself he got it free.
I've had one on my eBay watchlist for like 6mos.
Can't bring myself to drop that much coin. That's
a lot of vintage! Anyway, it's super cool. Just
something about it speaks to me.

I own my share of Rolex modern and vintage...I don't see the bracelet any different than other six digit oysters in terms of finish. Just took the watch out and don't feel any sharpness that's out of place.

Pictures don't do this watch justice.

So flippers won’t bother, and to buy it doesn’t make financial sense at the moment.............to get this watch you have to love it and not worry about depreciation etc..... I WANT ONE EVEN MORE!!!!!

I personally don't like it and I can understand that at present is trading at discount. However is a watch produced in small numbers and at some point his moment will arrive and prices will increase dramatically.

You have no soul!!! These are stunning in person. I challenge you to a ploprof slap fight at dawn!

Side note: I also hate the Daytona but this one... wow... I’ve tried 2 on and as noted below you immediately try and figure out how to justify it.

Pictures are no match to reality. Once you see it, either you have funds and buy it immediately or you start dreaming of it.

My partners Ford GT40 (raced at Lemans , (not a repro $3.8 Mil Hagerty )
Photo's on the wall with Enzo Ferrari & Carrol Shelby. Shelby gave him a Rolex Daytona because he did not have a watch to race with.

Your partner has Gurneys car from 66?

Nice Morgan and not quite an MGA next to it.
