Plant Ocean Repair Recommendation - Sacramento / NorCal

It's been a long time since I posted anything - I've been busy.

I moved from Stuttgart, Germany to the Sacramento area, a little over a year ago.

I had my PO serviced in Germany about 2 years ago but last week the crown stopped screwing down. I guess I've striped the threads. It's all these time zone changes traveling in the US, I need a GMT.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good watch repairer in the Sacramento area? I just want the repair, not another full service.

Thanks

Is this guy an Omega certified watchmaker? OP is going to need someone with an Omega parts account as this is going to need to a new crown and tube. It will take more than someone with excellent watch repair skills to do this job. You've got to have access to the correct parts.

OP - If you are willing to mail your watch I'd be happy to connect you with my Omega certified watchmaker. He's in the USA. You will need a new water resistance package, which will get you a new crown and tube, new He crown, and new gaskets. The cost should be under $200. He will not require you to get a full service. For a small charge (under $100) you could also get the case refinished. He does great work and is properly trained. But that's up to you. Whenever I have him do new gaskets on my dive watches I have him refinish the case since it's inexpensive (the case is already fully disassembled to do the crystal gasket and crowns) and then my watch looks brand new.

That's awesome. My local Omega certified watchmaker flat out refused to do a water resistance service only, even though the watch ran +1 spd with high amplitude and long power reserve. He said it hadn't been serviced in more than ten years and that he therefore would perform a complete service or none at all. I declined, had it pressure tested elsewhere, and continued wearing the watch, including going swimming with it.

In case anyone follows this thread I can confirm that Paul's Watch Repair in Sacramento does NOT/NOT have an Omega parts account.
