Hi All...new member here...first "technical" post. I've researched the PlanPro mods for 2254.50...wondering if the same PO bezel and crystal can be fitted to the Seamaster 300M Chrono Diver and have the watch retain its waterproof rating? 2254.50 (stock and w/ PlanPro mods) Also...if the mod is possible, does it make a difference whether one starts with 2594.50 or 2594.52 (one uses 3301 movement and the other 3303 movement)? http://www.omegawatches.com/watches/seamaster/300-m-chrono-diver/25945200/ http://www.omegawatches.com/watches/seamaster/300-m-chronometer/25945000/ I did a quick search for "2594.50 mods", "2594.52 mods"...found nothing. Thanks for your expertise.
Hmmm...no replies. Since I'm new, I'm unsure of typical response times...can anyone direct me to where I might find these answers (perhaps off-site?)? Thanks.
I think you could run into problems both with the second hand fitting and with the bezel being the right height in particular as from memory it's a bit thicker on the chronograph. The bezel shouldn't have any bearing on the water resistance though.
Thanks for the 411... I think I understand...the bezel would sit a little higher leaving a small gap under its lip vs the case, true? Can the PO crystal be used so it sits correctly relative the PO bezel? Would the second hand be any issue if the stock one were kept in place? I'm primarily interested in the bezel cosmetics/functionality. Thanks!
I can't tell you any of those things I can only speculate but those are a fair bit different the 2254.50 and 2594.50
The chrono is way fatter than the 3 hander and as noted above the bezel is much thicker. I should think there is zero chance of making the bits from a PO fit the chrono case. I sometimes wonder when I see this mod whether it may have been easier and cheaper to just buy a 2201.50 and be done with it. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be!
You'd be absolutely right...if one preferred the arrow hands and the increased thickness. The bracelet for the 2201.50 is world-class, though!
I too prefer the sword hands but it may make more sense to put sword hands on a 2201.50 than the other way round! I wear mine on a leather strap, I must dig out my bracelet for a look. I know what you mean about the thickness but you soon get used to 13mm vs 11mm. Not sure the same can be said for the later in house models which are, what a couple of feet thick. I have both 2254 and a 2201 and they are both great, I haven't been at all tempted to make one from the other.
Good call. I do, however, like the lower profile of the 2254.50 on my wrist. If the hands are an easy swap, maybe I could get used to the heavier/higher 2201.50. One shouldn't be suffering either way ; )
