I haven't noticed this before: a fake forum lifting threads wholesale from ΩF. With "Cornolio" as @LouS. Exhibit A: https://omegaforums.net/threads/zenith-black-pilot-143-6.11841/ Exhibit B: http://www.watchtalkforum.com/topic/502-zenith-black-pilot-143-6/
At least cornolio wasnt not trying to pass it off as a scam.... Still, stealing photos.... nothing new
Actually a lot of the photos we post here are stolen borrowed or whatever...for a time I though maybe that's why people kept insisting on posting photos, like it was a way to fund the site or something. I Google a search for a friend's watch and images I had posted here appeared everywhere from pinterrest to google...not the on sale posts which also end up in Google, but from the WRUW thread.
That's bizarre, rude and sad all at the same time. How desperate are they for content and contributors, I can picture the site owner crawling the Web to find threads to copy...
Yeah, I saw that thread borrowing on watchtalkforum a month or two back. Confused me at first. I figured it must have been well known to folks here. I think there is some real content as well but wasn't sure because there are so many threads stolen from a number of sources. There's some interesting stuff there as a result.
Bizarre indeed, though I guess it is the internetz. Congrats to LouS and cornolio for owning such a great piece!
Yea it looks like they're just pulling in content from everywhere, there's some TRF, TZ, WUS, you name it they've imported it to make it look like a real site
Copy a post yeah but copy a thread and add names with post counts and all. How much work would that be. ( I don't know so am asking)
I'm thinking of registering and engaging Cornolio in a discussion of the history of Yugoslavian military time pieces.
