·This one gets me every time. Has one of the nicer dials. But when you press the button the whole watch stops. Press the other button and it runs.
A look at the movement can see the brake is simply applied to the balance wheel.
I may have a second one of these, or at least the case. I sort of remember dissembling it. Rare for me not to put it back together. When I took up watchmaking in the 1990s I acquired one of my mothers watches. She always does wear a watch but only wants one at a time. When I took the watch apart (again in the 1990s) There was no mainspring! As a kid I must have taken it apart, then re-assembled it without the mainspring. I sort of remember playing with the watch. I could not have been more than 8 or 10 at the time.
When researching the other case It is marked Sindaco Ltd. There are no markings inside the Lamar caseback. I found this link http://watchipedia.wikidot.com/brand-s:sindaco
Since the setter buttons are on the reverse side, I can not fit any of my Landeron 48 or Venus 170 movements into the spare case. I wonder if they did that intentionally.
