I've already posted a couple of pictures of my kitchen egg timer; Some of you may be aware of a gentleman called Carl Evans at Gasgasbones; he has done some good work with making stands for Russian cockpit chronos. Here's an example: https://gasgasbones.forumchitchat.com/post/show_single_post?pid=1303173159&postcount=101&forum=458396 I have tasked Carl with the task of making a stand for my chrono and he has asked me whether I want any additional text or logo added; my initial response was to keep it plain as I have little idea of which logo might be appropriate and that's before we get into the discussion about correct fonts, flat-topped vs pointy As and all of that stuff. Does anybody have any bright ideas, witty comments or dry observations?
Au naturel! My opinion is that nothing is needed. It's beautiful in itself, you just need a stand or frame to bring it out.
For my Waltham I cobbled up this timber stand which initially I liked but as time went by I found it a bit on the heavy side, Now I just have it mounted in the motorhome. I would go something simple for that lovely UG
I bought it on Ebay from, if I remember correctly, a Belgian seller. I know nothing of the back story unfortunately.
Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to confirm this. It does pose an interesting question - do any of us have print quality graphic files of the various historic UG logos and does anybody know what the* font is called? *assuming of course that there is only one.
