Educate me, sensei's. I thought the minute track on all pie-pan dials was on the flat surface, not on the facets as shown above. The seller is insistent that the dial is original, but admits he bought it from watchestobuy.com. Verdict?

I wouldn't discount OPs watch as a redial. We are dealing with a reference which is known to have dials outside the norm.

See, that's exactly what I would have said, with my limited knowledge. But now I am even more unsure and intimidated, even :(

Most of these dials had a vertical satin finish in the center, so the sunburst finish is a bit of a red flag. But there was a lot of variation in these, and the pic is kind of blurry, it’s hard to get a clear look at it straight on, so I wouldn’t say one way or another yet.

Regardless I wasn’t aware there were endlinks for brickwork bracelets that fit flat 18mm ends like that... I have a monocoque DeVille (case is almost identical) that I’d love on that bracelet. It tends to wear on the smaller side for some reason despite actually being 34mm and I suspect these Connies wear the same way

Not quite, see how the indices are more rectangular?

Yes my point, may indicate same redialer
(of course that's if I am correct, and one never says never with vintage Omega (OK most times you can)

I don't think so because I've found that dial style from multiple photo sources. Unless the same watch *really* gets around, I think that style is factory correct.

None of the watches in the post you linked seem to match the exact dial under discussion, can you be more specific?

Well it certainly looks like I could be wrong here. That is a strange looking dial that is for sure.

I guess the sunburst dials were also correct for these after all...

Speaking of these though, it seems like I see these monocoque Connies with black painted markers vs actual onyx inlaid markers more than any other model. Which is unfortunate as more often than not I see the black paint starting to deteriorate. I’m aware that it was done in some of the other models of Seamasters and Connies from around this era as well, but was this just a cost cutting measure at the end of the cal 56x/ 75x lines before the cal 10xx watches could be introduced? Because there are some cal 10xx pieces out there that have actual onyx in them again... and onyx isn’t really all that expensive

AFAIK, onyx was mostly based out in the mid-sixties from the main Omega lines.

I predict the same will be said about this one in 50 years.

There is something black in the slots on the hands.
