    Hi All,

I am very tempted by a Constellation offered for sale but wonder if the dial and hands are original (as the seller claims) or has it been redialed. This Newbie appeals to the expertise of the forum members for an opinion. The case is a 167.005.

Calling @hoipolloi for assistance. My concern is that the minutes register is a bit farther away from the pie-pan folds than I would like.

    Compare with this example:

    Both are Ref. 167.005.

The fonts look otherwise correct to me.

    Here's mine:

Have to say that even though there is some distance from the five-minute markers to the applied indexes (notice mine are a different type) your specimen looks really good. The overall presentation of the watch (crispness of case, patina on lume and dial/hands condition) looks really good AND very consistent with each other - I'd say original.

If you want to learn more about Constellation, check out: collectors blogspot. Really nice site, imo.

I cast my vote privately for it not being a redial. The ink has height as you can see by the reflection of light at the top right of the last n in the printing of Constellation.

I noticed the end of the hour markers are shaped to a point near the fold instead of the more bar shaped markers of the typical pie-pans (such as ConElPueblo's specimen above). The pointy markers don't overlap the fold, unlike the end of the bar shaped markers, overhangs the fold and the hour marker. This difference adds to the impression that the printed minute markers are further away from the fold.

Yes. It looks original to me. Your dial doesn't have T, I guess the movement is in 20, 21 mil.
Mine is 25 mil. with one T.

    Hey guys,

Very happy with the amount too. That's the second within a week. Starting to become a real collector! Thanks for all your input. This forum is awesome.

I'll post the obligatory wrist shot when I'll receive it.
