Note the serial number.

Wow. Hadn’t seen that coming. Is Omega serious about this?

Serious about what? What is it about the serial that is raising eyebrows?

I'm not sure either. Can someone enlighten us?

I am just pointing out the new serial number 88,xxx,xxx on the new 321. The current new Speedmasters have 78,xxx,xxx serial numbers. The 88 block must be for the new 321's.

Ah I see. Yes until a few days ago I had never seen an 1861 or 33x3 movement Speedy made in the past 18 years outside the 77-79m range, but then Al confirmed authenticity on a 1861 Moonwatch with an 88m serial, so it looks like they are using a block in the high 80s for Speedmasters too. Maybe they got to 79m and started again at 88m. Other Omega serials have already hit the 100m mark and a new scheme seems to be in place for some watches using letters and numbers eg Axxxxxx

If the new movement is so subtly different (few interchangeable parts, etc.), shouldn’t it be called 321a or 321x or something to save any confusion? At first glance they look identical
