    This is a nice and unmolested 13ZN, 38mm, steel case with an original dial from 1938. Not mine, but I like it and took some pics when I met the owner at the watchmaker.

    I'm guessing because it looks almost too clean and unmarred compared to the dial.

    The dial finishes back then were not very durable, so it's quite possible the case is still in much better cosmetic shape than the dial. Then factor in that cases were not all that moisture resistant and you can easily see why that dial looks like it does despite having a fairly crisp case.

    Oh, and there are some marks and scratches on the end of the lugs.

    Overall a nice honest specimen.
