Sapphire caseback. Here are some good shots from Hodinkee. For this year, gold rotor matches case in color: white gold rotor for steel and platinum cases; yellow gold rotor for the other gold cases.
That’s my experience as well in the younger years. Lately I have more arm “cushion”, I’ve put in much effort to train the arm not to fight a watch. I’ll blame @texasmade if it flies off the wrist.
Gorgeous watch, it’s nice to live vicariously and enjoy your enjoyment Be careful with the macro shots tho, you might just find a bit of lint or a speck of dust
I brought a loupe with me to the boutique and scanned every mm of the dial, during pick up. My SA said "You're in a watch forum aren't you?" "Sadly, yes" Too many "dust in my brand new Omega" posts here.
Great photography! Not easy to get such nice wrist shots. Can't decide if that watch was made for you or you were made for that watch. It looks organic on your wrist. Congrats. (I feel sorry for the rest of your watch box.)
AP has popped on my radar recently (meaning, I’ve just recently come to find them strongly attractive). This is good fuel - congrats on the pickup! Curious to read more about the clasp issues. I love it on steel.
Thank you. The current residents of the box has yet to make a complaint. 39mm is nearly universal good fit and unisex. I’ve been particularly outdoorsy since Covid and toasted my arms to a golden brown. Any shiny steel strapped to my wrist will stand out nicely, ha. Glad you enjoy the photos.
No issue with clasp. Just my observation of the “light” locking mechanism of Jumbo. It feels more dress than sports. The bracelet is way too iconic for me to swap out, after much consideration. That bracelet is very very distracting during the work day I haven’t gotten anything done since picked up.
Late to the party here - nice thread, great watch, congrats! How did you convince them to sell you a Jumbo, 50th anniversary to boot?
It’s the proper way to do it on OF https://omegaforums.net/threads/fly-me-to-the-omega-boutique-gold-apollo-11-50th-anniversary.97871/ I enjoy living vicariously through the experience
Short story: I was on the list for 15202 before Covid, plus several factors played out to my favor, over 3 years period (and seemingly a million texts).
Wow!!! I don't recall a thread going south so quickly. I liked the lead up, no different from someone showing the unboxing thing. Enjoy your watch, that's a beautiful dial!!!!
