Pick this up on eBay, never heard of the brand but just feel in love with the dial. It's a mechanical watch so get that satisfaction of winding it like my speedmaster but with this one I can hear it tick, loving the sound of hearing it tick. Curious to know what other non mainstream watches people have bought because of the design
According to this forum, Kiple was a French watch manufacturer. Owned LIP for a while. Now defunct. http://forumamontres.forumactif.com/t10828-manufacture-kiple
I would love to hear more about less mainstream brands others have found for their design merits. A few years back I was getting interested in Gallet, but the brand has really skyrocketed in terms of price and it's not longer a good value deal.
That's a cool watch! I found that just searching for the movement manufacturer instead of a company name can bring up very interesting results! Sometimes when I have too much time on my hands I just do an eBay search for "Landeron/Valjoux/Lemania" and see what comes up. Lot's of interesting AND cheap pieces... this one cought my eye just a few days ago. Didn't bought it because the back unfortunately is heavily pitted.
