So you have £500/$650 to buy a vintage watch, what do you buy?

You have £1000/$1250 " what do you buy?

You have £5000/$6350 " what do you buy?

    Edited to include:
lets assume prices are 'fair' and not inflated, and your choice can commonly - rarity not outstanding - be found in that price range.

No specific references? You're happy to take whatever speedy comes along?

    1. Seamaster 14725 cal. 552 in stainless steel with crosshair dial.
    2. Either a Constellation 14381 cal. 551 in stainless steel (head only might be just about possible) or a Cosmic 2000 60m cal. 1012 dive watch if you can find one with its original bezel in good order. (I'm considering selling mine so there might be some bias here!)
    3. Breitling Top Time 810 Mk1 chronograph with reverse panda dial.

Great question, and one I need to answer. I have been collecting for just 6 months now, and I am still in the phase of “buy a watch, any watch”. The next watch is not strategically thought out yet. I’m looking forward to some great recommendations through this thread

A 18k - 2853? is stunning. Surprised you can pick one up for 5k when it looks that good!

Love the Conny 14381 with crosshair dial!
