I have a DSLR but don't have a macro lens. So I took some photos with my friend's iPhone. I'm surprised how well it turned out. There's an app called Camera+ which lets you have full manual control over the phone's camera.

Also with a phone. It really is amazing what these little gadgets can do

I've taken these with my phone as well. I'd like to upgrade to a nice camera but I'm not sure it's worth the cost and the fact that I'd only use it to take wrist shots IMG_4794.JPG IMG_4744.JPG

If you're only taking wrist shots and the occasional shot you're better off just getting a lens attachment for your phone then. There are similar brands and lenses available that are compatible with phones. I use OlloClip. They have Macro lenses, wide angle and zoom lenses available

Cellphone cameras are often grossly underestimated. They've come a long way over the years, and have the huge advantage that you ALWAYS have it with you for that "surprise" moment. It was a cellphone shot (iPhone4) that launched my aviation photography business.

I daresay the camera in my 2016 iPhone 7 Plus is better than my 2010 Nikon D90 DSLR. I never can remember how to use my D90 properly; I've read the book and watched the DVD multiple times and it just doesn't stick.

I've seen Apple's videos and the iPhone 7 camera looked awesome.

Speaking of which, the D90 is my DSLR, too. It's a very capable camera. I've had my eyes set on a full frame camera for a while now. I doubt it will happen though. I just sold one of my prized lens today that I was keeping just so that I could use on a full frame camera. And after spending $$$ on the Speedmaster, it's going to be hard to convince the wife.

Avoid the one listed as #1 best seller on Amazon from a company called Amir. I have it (comes with fish eye, wide angle and macro), but I'm not happy with any of em. Heed the negative reviews on Amazon (I'm one of the reviewers).

@watchknut are those macros using an attachment lens? Those are crazy crisp & clear for just a zoom(compared to my iPhone)

All my photos are iPhone 6+ and then iPhone 7+(since nov 16) here's a few. Some have been edited and other have not.

@adamk77 is this the app your friend has? (Theres a thread about editing apps I can add it too) IMG_1460.PNG

Put your friend's iPhone in your Moonwatch box (in the large accessory bin) with the timer and flash functions engaged, mash the pic button, FULLY CLOSE the main compartment lid...and...KABOOM!!! You have a pic from INSIDE your Moonwatch box!!! It's FANTASTIC!!!

Every generation the step they take is really quite noticeable, I look back in my photo roll at some of the first watch pics I took on my 3GS and its amazing the steps since then.

    A new Lenovo P2 and a quick'n'dirty test shot.

    IMG_20170404_212749.jpg

It's not anywhere near a top-end phone, but does have a USP that makes it stand out from the crowd - a 5100 mAh battery :)
