Speedy-Tuesday-GTG.024-750x500.jpg
Last week, the Omega boutique in Geneva threw a little party to celebrate Speedy Tuesday with us and a number of their guests (as well as some of our readers who were able to make it to Geneva). For approximately 25 guests, Omega’s CEO Raynald Aeschlimann kicked off with a warm welcome and a great […]

It's been a great evening ! Always a pleasure to meet all those people, talk and share... This time it's been a very interesting mix of collectors, amateurs and professionals which made that evening even more special in terms of networking. Honored to be invited, thanks a lot @Robert-Jan 👍

Such a great time, as usual... thanks @Robert-Jan, Balazs, Bert, Michael, Gerard (have I forgotten anyone?) for inviting us and giving us the opportunity to connect with friends, meet new ones, and have a 1:1 with Mr. Aeschlimann. How lucky we are!

That is amazing! How lucky you all are. And how great that Raynald connects with the community. Hope you all brainstormed ST3 over some scotch. Maybe after too many servings, you came up with an all gold version I’m hoping for 😉 Cheers

Walking la Rue du Rhône and la vieille ville (old city) during the Holidays is a real treat, and then you add being part of such a special event! Awesome!

I enjoyed meeting everyone, and sorry I got a little drunk. And for then grabbing Jenna's ass. Oh wait, apologies, I thought I was responding to my office holiday party email chain.

Hi @M’bob

I sent a pm to you already, but I wanted to be open book .

Mbob, your comment above about grabbing .... really is a joke in poor form and is offensive to at lest myself ( Others reading please do not comment on this ). It also does not bring any value to the thread ....

Please think about what your posting and think of it might be offensive to other members here....

Good hunting

First of all: is is bill, or Bill? I would appreciate you giving me the courtesy of spelling my name correctly. Names are capitalized.

Next, I frankly don't see the logic of chastising me openly here, and then sending me a PM. A private note would have been more gentlemanly, and I would have certainly understood your point of view.

Finally, I detect a bit of hypocrisy here. It is that my joke was in poor taste for just this thread, or the forum? If the latter, please review the content over at the Jokes section of the Open Discussion, and you will see that things can get significantly more gritty there. So make a decision if you want to limit things in questionably poor taste to every section, or you are okay with it in particular areas. But don't get on your PC high-horse and not outline parameters of conduct you expect in a tangible manner. It is far more offensive than an obviously light-hearted joke.

Hi M'Bob

Please, caps , no caps , all caps... really that is the topic you want to start with....

Your user name starts with "M" ... so i did M....

As I said i am being open book.... not a big deal unless you make it one. I dont know your name other then M'bob... I sign my emails , posts sometime bill or sometime Bill or Bill Sohne or bill sohne.... whatever.,...

You seem to have a rolling theme of questionable jokes... and I was just in the mood and frame of mind to respond...

As the internet grows we have more new users , and possible new members and they could be younger ... remember Kyle started on the foums when he was 13 years old..... and that was like 10 years ago.

I would not want my 15 year old reading posts with a comment like the one you posted above... I just find it lacking....

So before you go high horse or try to deflect on to someone else post...

Would you want your children ( assuming you have a family ) reading your comment and knowing it came from you ?

If you dont find an issue with that ... well then the cup is full...

I hope I gave you something to think about...

Good Hunting

Ps , FYI english is my first language, I am not a scholar or know the Queens English ... but I try communicate anyway !

Nice event, but probably too many dealers too close around Omega..and the Archive in last consequence..or weak individuals with access to the Archives..just a gut feeling..or maybe not just.

Fortunately, my two girls are intelligent and sophisticated enough to find the humor in my post, as it has to be taken, not in isolation, which you apparently did, but within the context of the rest of the thread. Three people apparently got that.

However, since you feel there is a pattern of this on my part, I will be happy to dial it back to a level that even Fred Rogers would approve of.

I didn't get anything from your post, but you are clearly aiming at something. Please speak up if you have something to say or criticize so we can learn from it for a next event.

Just a side note, yes at times some of the jokes in the "Joke thread" get questionable and when they do and I spot them I often delete.
However, I do not have the time to monitor that thread every day, so I am sure some questionable jokes slip by me.
When there is something the members object to or cringe at, feel free to contact me or other Mods.

Just my five cents but I guess another Fratello event for Speedie fans/OF members is long overdue & would be welcomed 😉
