Totally. My only question there is : how many times have we seen this before? From my limited experience at looking at papers and extracts, the papers post-date the extract. If this were true, we should see many more cases like this...

(as usual, I speak under correction)

Besides the Blue Dial remark on the EOA...we haven't seen any, never, not in years with a Production date months later than the sales receipt. "Payment date" is the most embarrasing, ridicoulus, unscroupolous and criminal explanation one could make up. Hard to believe they claim that seriously..

The papers do look 100% fake to me. Hey, how's that? Dated from 1964 and it's a booklet used from 1969-70 on? That booklet didn't even exist in 1964. WTF :cautious:

"I suspect that there is a certain amount of pressure that has been applied by Phillips to get this extract" @Spacefruit
William, I personally don't believe it's possible to force Omega to do this. We will need to look for a more plausible, individual explanation how this Extract came to life.

EDIT: if the papers are legit of course..

Hey William, again I’d like to show my German Omega brochure, which definitely shows a blue dial, especially compared to the MkII on the same page. Since you said you never have seen a blue dial in a catalog, this is maybe a part to the puzzle.

I believe this has already been discussed in an own thread somewhere but I can hardly believe that watch to be "definitely a blue dial" as stated.

I don't have any explanation for why nor how only the dial appears blueish on that ad but it wouldn't be the first marketing material to show something absolutely different or even wrong. Dozens of examples of erratic old ads, also moderns (eg. 60th anniversary poster, 1st version, with the orange racing in a straight lugs case). Also this would be the very first 105.012 with a blue dial to my knowledge (def not a 145.022 as stated in the ad :)).

I wouldn't be so definitive in using this ad as a reference point.

No problem, just wanted to share what I have ;) that the drawings in the catalogs often shows a different reference as stated is nothing new.

Since we also saw a blue 2998, 105.003 and 145.012, why shouldnt there be a blue 105.012?

I will check my other literature this evening.

Sorry to bring up the process of extracts and their accuracy again as they have been heavily discussed recently but this new information on dates is surely nonsense.

My specific area of interest is military SM300 which I have spent considerable time tracking.

The date on all of the extracts is different with the exception of two.

So I am to believe the British Government paid for these watches on hundreds of different occasions?

    It seems highly unlikely.

Furthermore, with regards to what they will or won't write based on actual information they have - they will write 'fixed bars and special military engraving to case back' although they would have no record of this information since this would have been carried out after thr watches left Bienne.

Whilst the extracts appear to settle collectors minds, personally, I'd rather have one that not, but I think the information should be taken with a grain of salt based on my experience with the above.

For a watch one watch, I ended up with 3 extracts, provided at different times, the date on all 3 was different.

I know of at least one other SM300 that has been given differing delivery dates on 2 separate extracts.

The booklet has a year of print noted inside on one of the pages. Would be great to get a picture of this, as also to hear what the auction house comments on this. (picture of similar booklet below).

Very interesting conundrum. I’d tend to agree with @Spacefruit that the sensible answer to the riddle is that the blue dials were service dials, from an odd batch that was left out in the Swiss sun for too long or whatever. Otherwise it would make for a very interesting story to explain how they came about over a variety of references.
As for the paperwork, what seemed quite straightforward at one stage (genuine extracts, sales receipts, etc.) is now getting murkier and murkier, which is a shame. The next thing will be carbon dating bezels, dials, etc. to confirm authenticity .
