Greetings from Manila, Philippines!

It’s #RizalDay
Sharing this Omega private label pocket watch for Estrella del Norte, an early 20th century upscale boutique located in Escolta, Manila. Dated to 1916, this pocket watch is a time capsule from the days of American Imperialism, as Filipinos then pledged allegiance to the American Flag and the Philippine Islands were her crown jewels in the orient.

I’m curious about the case, does this aid with opening it?

Hi, this is a nice watch. Actually it was made for the Levy Hermanos in Manila and Iloilo. Old members of my family, I wrote a book on their adventures in the Philippines after they flew Alsace during the 1870 Franco--Prussian war. https://www.amazon.fr/DEst-en-Est-Joëlle-Lasserre-ebook/dp/B0BM879CSY There is also a video of a conference I gave on this, with many pictures.

The lettering on the face is identical to those I have in my limited collection. They used to sell Omega watches and others of minor reputation, they had some very sophisticated ones and others more simple.
If one day you decide to dispose of it, please let me know, I am trying to get one for each of my grand children as a memorial of their great-great-great grand parents.
Best regards
