I now have a project movement. But I need a complete balance (of the non-shock absorber variant). If you have one or know of where one can be purchased, please let me know. :)

Broken staff? You can buy staffs from Cousins but, you'll obviously need a watchmaker to fit it.

Can't help with a complete balance, though.

    Cheers, Chris

Unfortunately, I'm looking for a complete balance. Thanks for the reference, though!

Interesting - that's one of the only gold tone 260 I've seen in looking through pictures of them. There was one other Ulysse Nardin in a competition case that appeared to be that color as well.

    Hi,

P260 has been equipped with different balances. On my pic (but the watch is sold) is a guillaume type, but there are Glycidur Types as well.
Isn´t it possible to marry a Peseux 260 staff with (f.i.) an Omega 30mm-movement balance wheel?
Please apologize, if my idea is a kind of flabdab, but a good and sensitive watchmaker could play a little bit with the balance-spring to adjust the mariage and achieve (?) a resonable "clock drift".

This would be an exercise in pure frustration for the watchmaker, and for the watch owner who would be paying for a lot of time spent for what is likely a failed or unacceptable result. You can't simply take a balance that "looks close" and stick it in another watch. Extremely small differences in weight of the balance can make huge differences in timing. This is a photo of a balance screw next to a regular ball point pen for scale - if you look closely you can see a timing washer I've added to the screw - this nearly microscopic washer will change the timing by 40 seconds per day...

The oscillating system is extremely sensitive to weight changes and the whole system is designed to work together with the power being delivered by the movement. If the balance spring and balance are not properly matched this would be a nightmare to do.

    Cheers, Al

Correct - my watchmaker told me the same. But I thought, it might be better than nothing, because complete balances for a P260 are rare.

Hence, the added value of sourcing a 'balance complete".

My title did say "complete balance", but my post said "balance wheel" - so I have now edited that.

Thanks, though I was just making a general point.
