Perlon Is very comfortable! And yes, also very light. It's quite stiff thou, but it does not feel hard or uncomfortable on the skin. Since I purchased two Palma Eulit perlons the natos nearly get Zero wrist Time anymore.

I can also recommend watchgecko! Fast and easy! Not sure If it still works but Bonus Code "instagram" gets you 10% off the final price!

There are 2 very different strap materials I've seen called "perlon" so I think it depends on who you get it from.

The straps shown in the post immediately above mine by Spoeedmasterfan88 are the nice soft ones. But others are stiff hard plastic mesh - that's the best description I can give you. I have one of the soft style seen above (it was called "tropical" by the seller) and I love it because it's nearly infinitely adjustable. I saw people posting photos of these calling them "perlon" and so I ordered a few from another supplier, and they are pretty much unwearable, for me at least...it looks almost like an injection molded mesh that is very thin and stiff.

Cheers, Al

I'm guessing one type is Nylon 6 with that weave, and the other is whatever material the Chinese factory happen to have handy that is cheap to work with on a given day in the same weave?

All I know is that one I'm happy to wear, and the other would be like wearing picky wool underpants on a hot humid day...here are two very different perlon straps...

Good one is on the bottom in these photos...shot of the weave...

The good one is much thicker...

When I hold the good one up, you can see it's very soft and flexible...

The thin one, not so much...

These are night and day different.

I don't know Al - the two German made Eulit ones I have (which from what I've read is the only company that actually uses Perlon, which is specifically Nylon 6 - all the others are various types of Nylon in a Perlon-strap type weave) are both quite thin, and quite stiff - ie if I bend it upright, it stays pointing up.

Might be the case - all I'm saying is what I said above...

"There are 2 very different strap materials I've seen called "perlon" so I think it depends on who you get it from."

I guess there could be many places that call what they use perlon, and it could be a number of materials. No matter what you call it, I dislike the stiff material and don't find it comfortable at all. It can be sized more precisely yes, but it's not comfortable to the touch on the skin, and if your wrist swells during the day, it cuts into your wrist a bit. The straps that Speedmasterfan88 posted seem way thicker than the stiff straps that I have that were called perlon.

Now having said that I'm wearing a suede strap right now that is super comfortable, so I really dislike anything that I can feel through the day on my wrist. One reason I am most certainly not a bracelet guy...so many might find them okay, but not for me that I have found yet.

If you don't mind, where did you get your Perlon straps? I'm looking for one or two for my Railmaster and would love the nicer quality, as the few perlon straps I have are pretty much the shit Chinese version. [emoji23]

The thinner and less comfortable straps came from cheapestnatostraps.com, and the thicker and more flexible strap I bought a few years ago from eBay seller "squinky" who has a store on eBay...

Squinky is always my go to guy for NATO and Zulu straps. I've found they are far more comfortable than the ones you find from other dealers. Looks like it's the same on these Perlon straps as well. Thanks for the info.

I always went bigger with the odd sized lug widths. That small 1mm gap seemed like the grand canyon to me even though in reality it's not that big of a deal loll

For a 19mm lug width, I'd recommend the Eulit Kristal in 20mm. I own all the Eulit variations, and I like them all for different reasons, but the Kristal in 20mm actually leaves a bit of a gap on my 20mm AT (after getting it wet a time or two,) so I bet it'd be perfect on a 19mm watch.

Holben have the good ones, I agree with Al on quality. It might, however, not be long enough.

Perhaps you might try to find a Tropic. I would also suggest you might troll eBay for 3/4" straps and bracelets. That is the nearly-exact same size, so very close, like 5/8" is 16mm.

Take a look at the Don Juan bracelet too. Funky, but you might like it.

Yep, I forgot to mention Holbens in my post above, which is where several Eulit options are available. IIRC, Watch Gecko has some, too.

Oddly enough, the top version is what is generally considered the normal Perlon style, although the material itself makes a big difference, and I can't say whether yours is the correct nylon.

Eulit, who makes the "real" Perlon straps, has several different weaves, including the one Speedmasterfan88 pictured, but the one I prefer (Kristal) is an even tighter weave and stiffer than the one you show! It is so thin and light that I even wear it in bed at night.

I mentioned in my post that this wasn't called "perlon" by the seller, but "tropical" instead. But I have seen others refer to any weaved strap like this as "perlon" so that's why I was pointing out that there are different materials that are associated with this name.

i much prefer the thinner weave. i have this variant in purple, green, brown and grey. it also works very well with my patek aquanaut. i took off the rubber strap and replaced it with a thin weave brown perlon.

That's actually more of a medium weave, but the most common. The Eulit Kristal is a tighter weave and even thinner.

Eulit Palma Pacific to me the best. Two piece 20mm will look fabulous on a FOIS. I have a FOIS and the 20mm strap mentioned above. Just never tried them together. But because of the properties of this strap I assume it would work well on the 19mm lug width.
