Was able to stumble upon a ROLEX AD and they actually got the Explorer 1 39mm in stock.
(since i walked away yesterday, i doubt its in stock now still. haha)
From my research i understand its hard to get any negotiation on the Explorer 1. (is that still true?)
Is it worth it at full retail? ($7050 after tax) or you guys think in a few months we may be able to get it a little lower?

Just bought my 1st expensive watch PO 9800 orange end of May, so i dont think i need a new watch this soon, so im willing to wait a bit if the price will come down.

A friend of mine just got a datejust 36 oyster bracelet last week at 16% off msrp, so i know a non-popular, non-sports model can still get discounts.

Thanks.

Rolex is playing supply games with all the steel sports models. I don't think anyone is expecting discounts from a Rolex AD on a new watch any time soon

You can pick up complete sets in great condition for around $5800. It’s up to you to decide whether the savings is more important than having something brand new. Personally I’d rather save the money and put it towards another watch but to each their own.

I can only support the advice you have received. The explorer model is not going to be discounted at AD or boutique level unless you buy it with another watch. You can get grey market or pre loved at good prices ( at least 20% off)

See it this way, once you take the tags off and wear it for a month it’s devaluated by 20 or 25% so you may as well get it at that price from a good seller.

The datejust and OP models may get discounted ya depending on the actual watch, but the explorer not so much.

So call @Kringkily for example and ask him to be on the lookout. He may be able to help.
