Patina dial is it worth the price?

Patina is the first thing that comes to mind when you see this thing.I know in many cases even patina is actually a plus. I can say that is the case here but I do think it is still quite cool and unique. The watch is serviced and looks to be taken care of, my question is - is the dial off putting in turn would making the watch difficult to re-sell when I would like to ? The watch has been on a local classifieds for a while and the price keeps dropping I assume it isn't easy trying to sell it. The Price started off at under $1000 and now it is just under $700. What is the verdict ? worth it ? disclaimer I know when it comes to watches you should buy what you like , but me being a student with limited funds I would like the assurance that if need be and I need some extra cash I can sell the watch for a good price.
Thank you for your help as always !

I realised I have given no other information about the watch. The ref Ref. 2757 from 1954 and the movement is the Caliber 355. Serviced in September.

Sorry, IMO the "story" of the watch is moisture. Probably stored the 12 upwards😕 .
In general a nice SM-modell 👍, BUT.....for me: damaged. If the movement is OK, my max. value would be 400.

The attractiveness, or "value" of patina, is largely subjective. However, in my view, the dial that you show crosses the line from patina to damage, and is also not a color that is generally favored by collectors.

So, I would say that the condition of the detail detracts from the overall attractiveness and value of the watch.

That dial is not attractive to me personally and I do think you would have trouble selling it.

Agreed with the folks above. I'd stay away from this, at that price.

One man's patina is another man's damage. I say damage, it's not attractive to me.

It looks water damaged and mouldy, each to their own of course, it’s just not my ‘cup of tea’

Personally I find this dial interesting. Most water damage I've seen goes black, not caramel. My other half is opposed to excessive patina, so for that reason I wouldn't buy this.

Is the dial making the watch difficult to resell? Absolutely. Want to sell patina? Go for a damaged Rolex.

Judging by the condition of the dial surely you’d have to question the condition of the movement.

I like the character of this dial. IF the movement was in good shape (pics) and IF you personally like the dial you should consider it. But, as you can see just from the responses here, would be quite hard to sell.

If this was nice and evenly tropical, that’s one thing. The corroded upper dial indicated trouble below I’m afraid.

I'm in the minority here, but I wouldn't write it off if the movement was okay (and OP mentioned it had been serviced). Better pics would help, but the printing and dial furniture in the upper half look intact at least.

I know this is pushing it a little, but could it have been stored with the top down for quite a long time so that loose radium fell only to the top area of the dial, causing radium burn exclusively there? It doesn't necessarily look like rust to me, the dark spots with a bright ring around them etc... But I'd definitely want to see the inside, too, before buying it.

I am a fan of interesting patina, but this one would be right on the edge of acceptable for me, if the movement is okay.

But I think $700 is too much.
