Reading through the different forums this morning got me thinking about an old love that I wished I had never gotten rid of.

It wasn't the flashiest watch out there, it wasn't the most expensive but to me, I loved it and for the life of me I can't remember why I ever got rid of it.

My past love was my Omega Seamster 2255.80 with that amazing electric blue dial that when the sun hit it, would always make me smile. With the super polished bezel and polished links was a complete pain to keep from marking but I loved it. Immediately after selling it, I had regretted it and later replaced it with the newer version 212.30.41.20.01.003 in black this time (The ink black dial mesmerised me).

So here is to my Electric Blue (image not mine but as I remembered it)

    Lets hear of yours.

    P.S. Watches that is;)

I am happy to have nothing to contribute in this thread. I’ve never sold a watch and don’t plan to start selling anytime soon. ::psy::

Brilliant ! This is the only watch I ever sold and wish I hadn’t. A client of mine always liked it and offered to buy it and stupidly I said ‘sure’ :(

Muchos otros errores estúpidos. None as big as the above one.

Yeah, I know. I also sold not one but two Centenary 2500s. Ask @cicindela and @gatorcpa what they thought about that.

Wouldn't mind having back my old IWC Spitfire Mark XV, the Tiffany's Mark Coupe, my former Blancpain Villeret, the vintage IWC shark fin caliber 89...... the list is long and distinguished.

Well it was in the mid 90's. Her name was Elizabeth. But alas we went our separate ways. Sorry no pic to protect the (not quite) innocent. :whistling:

This thread might possibly be entitled “If only I had Known Then What l Know Now!” 30 years ago, I bought a Rolex Paul Newman for $2,500.00 ( Cdn.). Later, sold it for $4,800.00 (Cdn.). I didn’t take a picture of it at the time, so am unable to show it. Aside from the Paul Newman, I have sold a number of other Rolex. One 1970s vintage GMT Master, one 1970s vintage Submariner (steel and 14k), one Subaminer (all steel), two Prince Observatory duo-dials, one Oyster gold-shell, and recently, a Daytona (model 6263). Oh well! I still have eight Rolex watches. Life goes on.

Other than the above, I’ve sold a pocket watch, once in a while. No sense looking back!

On the subject of past loves. There was the real estate man’s daughter I used to date. Brother! Did she know a lot!

Don't look back on what you wish you still had because if you were able to achieve such greatness at one time you already succeeded. There is only greater things ahead.
