hi im steve I've owned my sea master professional now which i bought used for 14 years now it was a drunken impulse buy on my 21st birthday and although at the time struggled to justify and pay for it so glad i did. It's given me given me immense pleasure and always received compliments long with trouble free use until now I have managed to loose the pin on the buckle which the spring clasp catches onto and I'm struggling to source my local independent dealer has quoted around £200 for the full buckle but as the pin is the only issue seems a bit extreme can anyone tell me where to source and fix this issue thanks steve based in the uk
Is there another pin on the bracelet that's the same size? If you can measure it, then any that fit, should do?
Like the man says, it's one pin. One of the biggest benefits of well made mechanical watches is meant to be how repairable they are - replacing the clasp for the sake of this is pretty overkill!
yes, but even getting something made to do the job is likely to be cheaper than a whole clasp replacement?
no its the pin/round head thank clamps in the spring last service was 2 years ago keeps good time no other issues so a bit like buying a new clasp why spend when i don't have to the moneys not the main issue but just seems a waste you wouldn't buy a new headlight just to replace the bulb on your car
I didn't know that was even a separate piece until I looked at my bracelet. I still think you'd be better served by getting a donor clasp, not a new one, to replace the part.
14 years, and looks like you don't clean your bracelet regularly. Be more like a strong point in my book
I've just put though the ultra sonic will admit its been a while it normally just lives on the wrist i was waiting for that comment
