Well, we all need a little humour in these darkened times....

When this alert popped up, I thought it must be a case of ‘lost in translation’ - but it’s from a London auction house!
My only thought is that whoever collated the lots left an audio tape to be typed up by their admin team.
(but they obviously have no-one proof reading their published material)

To make matters worse, the watch itself is a bit of a mess.
By all means chip in to list its inadequacies.

Oh, that is indeed very nice.
Cal. 565 is 1-4 better than the cal 561/564 you’d usually find in there! Also note that the serial is much higher than you’d expect for a 168.005 - that means newer! The dial is no pie pan and therefore easier to clean. They have improved the original design already and replaced the sunburst finish with a classic black-on-white, no-nonsense design choice. Timeless! I like how they picked hands that cover only a minimal portion of the beautiful dial at a time, which makes it a better choice than the original, wider ones. Same goes for the crown, so much easier to use than the decagonals. The 1000£ estimate seems very low.

I think you would get two likes from me for this if I could give them.
What this watch really needs is a two-tone bracelet to match the silver hands/gold dial furniture vibe.

if this were an Italian Rolex forum I’m pretty sure we would have just witnessed the birth of a new watch sobriquet . 😁

Surely we have a winner in the worst redial competition. And as a bonus it has its own special designation - Pai Pam. From now on we should nominate Pai Pam grades in the bad redial stakes, with this one setting the standard.

This post made my day. Thanks @Peemacgee.

This was actually a prototype for the “learning how to fish” training program.
