Own a 105.003 and have a Thomas Preik display back?

Have read discussion here and there, but would love to see some more images of how the Preik display back looks on an 003 if anyone has some to share - some angle/side view shots would be great.

If you have any comments whether the display back adds any additional depth that would be great also. I understand it is not supposed to, but have read that some say they think it does. I haven't ever seen anyone take a measurement though with the original v display back.

    Thanks all-

The Preik looks to be thicker, but not measurable with any scale I own. I tried to take a pic so you can see the difference. The cover on the right side is my original and the Preik is attached to my Ed White.

Happen to be wearing mine right now. Have it on one of the NASA velcro straps - one of the benefits of these casebacks is you don't have to worry about rubbing of NATOs on the Seamonster (though the same could be done by a sticker). Here are some shots. I think it adds a touch to the overall thickness - maybe a millimeter or so, though I don't have calipers on me to check. Really though, haven't noticed a difference with it on.

I have a Thomas Priek on a 2998.5 and notice no difference and of course it saves your original back (just don't loose the back and dust cover). Imho the 321 needs to be admired. 20170312_100525.jpg 20170312_095124.jpg

IMG_2421.PNG I had the hands changed on my Speedmaster and discovered 6 months later that the dust cover had not been replaced. I managed to source one relatively cheaply. Marcos advice not to lose the dust cover seems very appropriate given today's eBay sale

Paid around the same amount for a crown for my -74 (had a replacement crown, which I knew when I bought it). It does hurt to spend that much on one little part... that's vintage watches for you I guess.

Forgot to ask if anyone is still listening...
Any issues with the display back install/removal around the threads? Or easy on, easy off?

No problems at all, a very well made piece of German engineering. The thickness from center of the plexi to center of the back is 13mm. If you have a good looking 321 your watch deserves a Thomas Priek.

My apologies, the above comment was refering to a 2998.5. I previously had that TP back on a pre moon speedie, one would assume the measurements would be similar. Remember one is a straight lug case and the other is the larger lyre type lug.

The one with the JB Champion mesh is by daily driver. I've had it on for a few years now. No issues. 7.3.13_14321s take 2.jpg 7.3.13_33321s take 2.jpg 7.3.13_45321s take 2.jpg
