    Hi OF -

Up for sale is this beautiful Zenith from 1941. Case measures just shy of 37mm so 'oversized' for the time. Original blue-steeled hands and dial, which has aged to a nice, even cream colour. The chrome plated case is in good condition with some slight pitting under a loupe, and a stainless steel caseback. I believe it houses a Zenith calibre 106, which is working fine but I have no service history.
Case - chrome plated, measures 36.8mm
    Lug width - 18mm
Dial - original and in good condition, with some tiny spotting visible with a loupe but consistent with age.
    Crown - unsigned.
Caseback - stainless steel, the serial number on the inner caseback is no longer visible.
Movement - Zenith 106 movement number dates it to early 1941.

A lovely Zenith and reluctant to let it go but its not getting much wrist time - offered here for £500, postage within the UK £7.00 Royal Mail Special Delivery which includes insurance, elsewhere to be discussed. Pics below and thanks OF for the space and everyone for your consideration.

I've had some requests for additional photos of the case sides - hope these are clear enough.

    Cheers - Dan

    That’s a cal 12-4 not 106. What are the first 2 digits of the serial, 33 ?

Thanks for your message - yes, the movement serial no starts 33.
I'd been told a calibre 106 was more likely for a watch dating circa 1941, but I am happy to be corrected by an expert. Thanks for any advice or insights.

You can see 12 under the balance wheel. 12-4 P is the correct cal. And yes 1941 is most likely.

So thanks to the experts here - worth pointing out this Zenith has a Blancpain manufactured movement. Lots of character and history in this piece.

I don’t think there’s any definitive answer as to whether the movement was made by Blancpain or Zenith modified an existing movement from Villeret

A couple more shots in the daylight - hopefully capturing the beautifully aged dial. Thanks OF for the space once again and for those who've reached out - still available.
