Outer casement number with Omega Logo?

Good morning All,
I have just noticed a number on the casement of my 1966 Omega Seamaster as pictured, it states - "40" with the omega logo, any ideas what this means?
Any advice and insight welcomed.

Probably plated? 40 microns thick?
