Does not necessarily mean anything, as it can come back "in stock" usually in a day or so.
This just happened with the standard Speedy last week or so, and happens from time to time...

it means their online stock is not available at the moment. but it has nothing to do with availability of stock for retailers or OB at Omega warehouse. At least this is how it typically works with D2C businesses that are selling with retailers and also directly.

When you see "This item no longer available" you know it is discontinued, otherwise it is temporarily out of stock.

I’ve always been curious as to how many sales they generate through the site.

Correct. There is little utility in buying directly from Omega at full price as chances are that you can get the watch from an AD at a discount with personalized service.

Thanks, man! So you don't find the thickness of the watch to be any kind of problem?

I agree, but if there's people who will buy watches at 3x retail price at greys, there's going to be people buying directly from AD.

You have to realize there are many clients who value service and convenience over price. And in today's situation there are more and more of these people. Not everyone is driven by price, in fact many watches and jewelry are sold at full price, the client just isn't motivated by getting a discount. I've often heard this from jewelers.

It's interesting, and I would love to know what those revenue numbers look like (AD discounted sales vs.OB sales vs. full price online).

From Swatch's annual statement, sounds like online sales are doing well:
    "Omega Online
2019 was Omega’s best ever year for online traffic. This was particularly helped by the Apollo 11 50th anniversary activations, and the brand saw increases to its strong position in China and Asia and important growth in the USA and UK. In April, Omega launched its second e-commerce market, this time in the UK. Sales are already very encouraging, while the existing e-commerce market in the USA is stronger than ever. Adding further support to these sales, Omega is now selling NATO straps online in 16 European countries."

Lets just say I wouldn't mind it if Omega suddenly discontinue this version of the PO and replace it with a 41mm version with a thinner design.
