20yr old Boones Farm tastes like whiskey. Found it under the stairs. Dark and earthy.

I'm Scottish, and while I drink French wine most days I do like my single malts. I'm relatively unadventurous though and mostly just drink the bog-standard usual suspects (pun intended). I like Ardbeg 10 yo, and Talisker 10 yo if I feel like something a little less intense. Normal supermarket fare where I am... I currently have a bottle of Ardbeg Kelpie (OK, but I prefer the 10 yo), and another of Smokehead, a contemporary-branded malt from one of the Islay distilleries (they don't say which). It's pretty good in fact!
Check out the Aldi & Lidl malts too.

Carefully and put the expensive stuff in back so you do not grab it late in a session. 😉

THIS!! Get a drinking/sipping selection in house. 😀

Could I ask you whiskey experts a question? I’m not much of a drinker anymore might have a Guinness on st paddy’s day but I’m interested in getting a bottle of heavens door whiskey due to my obsession with the music of Bob Dylan and on occasion I have people over I ask them if they would like something to drink (which to me means soda or water etc.) sometimes they will ask for booze and I have none. Has anyone tried this whiskey?

I have not tried it, but if you ask me round………

I am sure any friend would be glad to drink it if they knew it and would give it a go if they did not.

Bob’s latest ‘Rough & Rowdy’ is a peach. IMHO.

It’s decent. It’s definitely a marketing thing, Bob Dylan extracting what’s left from his fame. I respect his music, but like most of the celebrity whiskies this is basically sourced whisky. It’s no Weller Antique or Four Roses or even Rare Breed. But it’s a decent sipper and if you’re a big Bob Dylan fan getting into bourbon, go for it. 👍
