    i need to replace a lithium battery that says “CR2 Industrial Lithium” and has the numbers 01-2023. For a replacement battery do I need to match those numbers or just the “CR2”? Thanks all.

    Just get a battery with CR2 or equivalent.

    I think the 01-2023 is just Panasonic's part number.

    If buying on eBay, make sure it's genuine OEM, there are fakes in the battery world too.

    Here are the various equivalent codes for the major brands.

    CR indicates the type of battery (C = lithium) and shape (R = round), 2032 indicates the size (20 x 3.2mm), so you have to match both. It’s a standard code so all brands will report that in addition to their specific names.

    It's a CR2, not a 2032.

    Obviously! ::confused2::

    ooooh it’s 2023, not 32.

    Note to self: don’t post on the forum on the way back from the bar.

    Nah, it's OK, we all do that sooner or later.

    What is important though...............

    Note to self: don’t click on eBay "bargains" on the way back from the bar.
