Please show this supposed photo of Trump in hand-cuffs.

And while complaining about him being arrested, remember, you are talking about a convicted felon ... convicted by a jury of his peers after being defended by the best lawyers money can buy.

Trump is just a convicted Felon. And demonstrates it Daily. And that Idiot, out of 360 million citizens, YOU elected Twice. Enjoy the coming 3.5 years.
Trump is certainly far more crude than his predecessors, but the implication that only he is corrupt, or that he is far more corrupt, are wrong, and (in the second case) unclear at best. Politics in the U.S. is a corrupt game, and I am certainly not excusing Trump's behavior. But while a bloody, poorly executed robbery may be more unpleasant to witness, "white collar" crimes can be equally, if not more damaging, and should not be ignored.
These to me are like perfect encapsulations of where the US is at. A huge plurality of voters believe Trump's essentially/only worse than other presidents and that Trump—whose public life and career basically began with his being sued for housing discrimination—has been mistreated by the legal system.

An equally huge plurality of voters believe Trump's categorically different, for way too many reasons to list here.

I'm not sure how those worldviews can be reconciled, politically or personally.

No disrespect at all, @Walrus, but "This is the same side that had no problem arresting Trump 4 times" is pretty telling and loaded. If someone breaks the law, they should face consequences, full stop. Both presidents Trump and Biden were found to have classified data at their personal property. Both were investigated for it. One of them immediately tried to return said documents, one lied about them, and delayed returning them until compelled by the justice department. Are those not substantive differences, and shouldn't those actions have consequences?

I don't think those are @Walrus beliefs.
Just sharing "internet commentary".

From his post on WRUW he's got much more important things on his mind right now.

That is true, but my point, in case it wasn't clear, is that the whole system is corrupted, and to focus on Trump as THE problem is to completely miss the forest for the trees.

Furthermore, there is a serious argument to be made that, ironically, his boorish behavior, and dubious policies, are likely to accelerate an inflection point, after which desperately needed radical reform might actually take place.

I just like the reactions need some different stuff it’s too much like an echo chamber. My situation is still evolving but I’m gonna let it play out deal with the persons ramifications tomorrow.

Looks like it's almost time for one of my favorite Carl Sagan quotes of all time

BUT seriously, I was re-reading The Demon Haunted World just the other day and I was absolutely struck by the title of Chapter 25: "Real Patriots Ask Questions."

So much of this chapter is just so absolutely in tune with today's political discussion and issues.

Everybody needs to watch Elia Kazan’s A Face in the Crowd. It explains Trump and makes you hate Andy Griffith all at the same time.

What if I don’t want to hate Andy Griffith?

The movie will change your mind. Maybe I should say the character Andy Griffith plays.

Nancy Pelosi just happens to be married to a man who makes Warren Buffett look like an absolute child when it comes to reading the market. There is absolutely nothing questionable about any of his transactions.

The "bartender" representative along with a couple of other reps introduced a bipartisan bill to ban stock ownership and trading for members of Congress and their spouses.

Republicans control the House and Senate so if they were really serious about ending this corruption, it could easily get passed. They have the votes to do it.

It won't pass and the Republicans will blame the Democrats for its failure, just as the Democrats blamed the Republicans for why the ACA didn't include universal healthcare. Politics is just professional wrestling for people who think they are sophisticated. Each side plays the heel for the other's voting base. All the while, while people are looking the other way, they ensure that the only things that ever change change for their benefit.

Here is a funny Paul Pelosi story. Paul drunk out of his mind. Crashed his cadillac on the way to the Bohemian Grove in Sonoma County. The place where the rich and famous meet and do weird shit. Anyway he wrecks his Caddy. Knows he is drunk as skunk. So, Paul gets to the Bohemian Grove bar and starts swilling more drinks., When the sheriff shows up to ask Paul P what happened he responded, "damn. lost control a squirell ran in front of me. I was so shaken up I needed a drink"

Tow driver got to keep the caddy.
