Original or not? And are those two watches actually mine? Or is there 2 or 3?

I'm going to use this thread instead of the others to discuss my watch. Will post some of the quotes in the other threads. The watch we're discussing.

    Bad pictures.

I asked where he find that picture (2017) because it looks like mine and posted a picture of mine from today.

Then you can read in this thread. Just jump ovdf the beginning of posts. https://omegaforums.net/threads/is-this-2639-1-cal-265-original.66244/

Long story short if you don't want to read everything: I wondered where the watch in that thread came from as it looks almost exactly like mine. And people have said that mine isn't original in some places. Some say it's a redial tough and some say it's an original dial. Most seems to agree that the hour markers are not original.

I found a third one on another forum that has the same kind of hour markers, but a different back case and less patina on the dial. That picture for the "third" is one year old but seems weird if mine has patina so much just under one year. Back case might have been changed ofc. so that doesn't rule out that it's mine but it makes it a little bit weird considering all the other stuff.

    Etc etc.

Now I'm trying to find out if those two other watches are actually mine? Or did Omega make dials noone seems to know about or is there a guy out there that makes those kind of dials? What's going on?

Will a 31,6mm glass still fit? I bought it because I thought it was an 2639 but maybe it isn't? Or the case is?

Thinking about selling it. What do you think a fair price is?

But I'm still wondering about that second and possibly third version. It would be so weird if that's not mine but some things make it seems like it's not mine.

I like the look of the watches you like. Depending on your budget and location, a reputable watchmaker/dealer might be better than online, as authenticity could be better confirmed. As a bonus you could expect a warranty

Thanks for the reply. Yes but that's pretty rare to find here in Stockholm, very rare to find one in good condition from an AD or a good watchmaker. Thinking about buying one for around 800$. The watch(es?) in this thread are around 300-450$ a piece. Have no idea what line might be worth now considering the unoriginal pieces.

I hear you. I am in Vancouver, and there aren’t a lot of vintage watches available here either. You will need to factor in the service cost for a piece you buy online, so the cost starts to get closer, but dealers will most always cost more.

Noone has any idea of the value? I'm going to be honest about it and not claim that it is "100% original"

Oh wow. That's cool. I wonder why there's some that have the same look. Maybe when things got replaced back in the day those were the parts to get? Would be cool to know but guess I never will. Or maybe another Omega (which one?) had parts that was pretty popular to use as replacement parts for this one.

So it's 100% original? Both yours and mine but Franken?

I've been thinking about that as well. The previous crystal was wrong and didn't have a chrome ring.

Obvious issues with both. The second has been messed with as shown by lume. Both show hand issues from length to no lume on a lumed dial.

In the case of your watch everyone agrees the hands are wrong. The dial is a question as it doesn’t appear as by far the majority of examples look. They are all omega parts but with so much dial variation between models and different cases where dials can be swapped it’s hard to say if the dial is original.

Haha this is getting ridiculous. They are the same color. That's a filtered picture. Are they original? Maybe not but it's funny how people trying to find more wrongs. The hands and markers are the same color.

How do you know that all are omega parts? Recognize them from other Omegas?

The hands are of a common Omega style. The dial as said before appears to be an original Omega dial. We need to see the caseback to verify the case but it has the style of an Omega case.

Ok thanks. The markers as well?

Case back. The other one I've seen that look almost exactly like mine has "2639-7“ engraved instead of 2639-3 like mine.

    It’s an omega case.

I've got this watch now. Is there's something wrong with it except for the hands?

I can take more pictures later.
