This one has been bugging me for a couple of days, It is not in hand yet.
Does the dial look original, not refinished?
Looks good from where I am standing but I have been wrong before, several times.
    Thanks Mick

No. Though not unattractive, not the best of this type of redial either.

You are in a good place to find one of the München watch fair dials from the '80s or perhaps a nice condition original Rg or SC Rg. You are also in location where you can expect to pay. It's a tough world out there.

    Teach me please
What do you see with this one?
What tells you it is a re-paint?
    Thanks Mick

One at a little place in Bienne, but not sure on this one, markers look too small.

The first, and biggest clue is that it is far too clean for a dial that is ostensibly around 60 years old. An original dial on a watch left in a safe for that long wouldn't look so bright and clean.

Very easy to tell with the old ones, the new looking pristine are not too difficult. First find dial, second ask Erich or Mike:thumbsup:

Here is another from Bienne, 100% Genuine, but the dial is one off on this one, a special edition of one. However look at the Roman Markers, extending beyond the ring.

very similar dial is coming up at Bonham's...I'd like to think it was an original dial..... but never seen one of these with chronometer under the omega text and looks very clean.

    My best one

So this style of dial is only found on RGs?
The one I pictured in the original post is not RG but is a early cal 30

most of these dials were sold by the biggest dealer from Israel at European watchfairs and ,as far as I know, made by a very well known german dial repainter. if you ask him nicely, he has even better fonts for that dial.....not cheap..... kind regards. achim

If you are referring to Causemann, I've seen some poorly done redials from them.

no, that was Bethge; but you have to be VERY specific and send BIG pictures and have them send good pics. back before they work on them and have more than one done. otherwise the price is too high. kind regards. achim
