Hi guys, First post to tap into the wealth of knowledge in vintages. Is this Omega seamaster dial original like the seller is claiming? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-OME...dFy1wZSpQmpJnfbJxnJTk%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=ncPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
If it's a redial, it's a real good one. However, the dial looks to be in much better condition that the case and movement. That's almost always the sign of a redial. That's where I'm leaning. gatorcpa
I stared and stared at this one.....all my senses said redial but I couldn't put my finger on it. What about the crosshairs extending past the hour markers, is this right? Is the crosshair a little thick? My main red flag was the "SWISS MADE" just would not sit with me, too thick and no space between words. Note* I am not going to check records, photos or examples, I want to fly by the seat of my pants, from memory on this one just as I would have to at a market. Final call, high-end redial great as a gift or wearer but not as a collectable.
The Swiss made does look suspicious too me, too thick. Is there any article about redials? I'd be curious to know how they are made. Is it by hand or by machine? It must be a hard job to restore a dial.
