I'm about to pull the trigger on a vintage speedy. Looks all good but it has a set once crown. My question is how much cost and hassle can I expect to get and original crown installed?

It depends on the crown. Some are very rare and very difficult to get. If you can share the ref # I'm sure a knowledgeable Speedyholic can help you out.

Thanks. It's a 861 transitional from 68. I want to get the older style flat foot crown installed...

They pop up on ebay. Expect to pay about $400-$600.

Also, and harder to tell, some are railmaster crowns modified to fit speedies, but it's very hard to tell until you go to install it. Even so, these railmaster crowns can be adapted to fit speedies.

I was negotiating with this seller a little while back.
    May still be available.
They were asking $500 crown and stem at the time
