Possibly a slight detour on the way to the Deville Chrono...

I have a chance at this one...

I have a SS X2 deville which I love, but this one..WOW - a very limited run on a discontinued model...

What's the consensus? Bite or not?

It just doesn't look like an Omega to me, that's probably my biggest issue with it. Strikes me as something Cartier or a fashion brand might do. You've got too many watches that are far better than this to bother with it IMO.

But he can be the modern Deville completist !!!!
In my opinion it is a very unique watch. At the right price should be an attractive collection. I hope it is not white gold and very high price. I believe the resale value would be poor.

    It is White Gold -
    MSRP was 19,800
but could be had for 12,500....
It's funny, Steven Urquhart was saying the same thing about this Deville - it was not a good seller for Omega, and the belief was that it just didn't look like an Omega...

what would you guys consider a good price?

Sorry to be blunt, but I would not wear it for any price...unless of course it meant money coming my way, then I might consider it.

    Cheers, Al

Sorry to say this but what's up with the X2. Doesn't work for me. I am with Al on this watch except for one thing. I wouldn't even consider wearing it even if it means money coming my way.

I see a lot watches that look just like this at my local J.C.Pennys. On the same table with the 60mm models that says any watch $29.95. Only difference is they don't seem to say Omega on them. ::confused2::

Ok I retract my opinion, at that price, it is not unique.....it is just expensive unattractive watch

Agree......make it clean, no ugly stripes of hour and minutes markers, remove all the roman numbers, and we may have a winner.

    Sorry for poor redial

I definitely don't like this version but I love, own and wear the first byzantium (which by the way was far less expensive and smaller than the new one) :

It is the modern interpretation of the case of the cosmic moonphase from the fifties, so for me, it looks Omega. The roman markers mixed with arabic ones gave it its name of Byzantium.

But of course it is very different from the rest of the current (and past) collection and for sure it has never been a success in terms of sales.
