Opinions wanted on which PO to purchase

My PO(2500) was stolen and I have replacement value through my home owners policy.
I have found a PO with what I believe is the 8500a movement for $5100.
The 8500a is a 45.5mm which I really like and the new model is obviously smaller at 43.5mm.
Should I get a current model PO or save a few bucks and get the one with the 8500a movement?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Honestly I’d get the best 42mm 2500 I could find. But that’s me and I own a 45.5 3313.

I would save the money and get a preowned 8500. One on davidsw for 3275 it’s 42mm so perfect size.

Always nice insurance can kick in.

My choice also. Thickness (14.5mm) and size well balanced.

@Foo2rama nailed it. PO 2500, preferably D integration

I like the blue dial/blue bezel one, I think it's the sportiest one they have. I don't think the PO is really suited as a dress watch so the blue is def my favorite. I have one in 43.5mm size is great.

I am going to look at either 43mm or 45.5mm. I was really hoping someone was going to sing lots of praises for the 8900 movement.
Perhaps I'll check out the 8500. The stolen watch was a 2500 and just to try something new I think I will avoid another 2500.

    Thanks for all the feedback!!

I understand wanting to try something new. As much as I like my 2500, I really miss the much more detailed dial of my 8500. Not enough to switch my 2500 for an 8500 though. Im assuming you were thinking about the titanium PO 8500. $5100 sounds like too much, even for that one

I would try on an 8500 first since it is quite a bit thicker than the 2500. I have both the original 2500 and the 2500 Liquidmetal LE and am thrilled with them both.

    I'm going to chime in.
Firstly I'm sorry to hear about the robbery.
Secondly if you're after a 45.5mm PO why not try the Deep Black series?

It's a full ceramic/liquid metal timepiece and from my experience with it at the boutique it's actually a really good timepiece. There are a few being sold on the forums for $1k above what you were originally planning to spend.

Plus it has that 8900 movement you were hoping to hear about.

I saw a thread earlier about the military exchange having a sale on all Omegas.
So, I ended up with the titanium Planet Ocean 45mm in blue for $5875.
Didn't get the black like I wanted but I got the size I like.
Hoping I did okay on the price.
    Thanks for all your input!!

Sorry about the loss of your 2500. That's rotten.
I own the 2500 and 8500, LIke them both, but the only steer I would have lent is the fact I wear the 2500 loads more than the 8500.
But as you've now ended up with the weightless titanium, enjoy!

Do you want a display back or a thinner watch?

I’ve always preferred the PO LMLE with the 2500 movement. Best of both worlds with the LM dial and thinness of the 2500 movement.
