Jokes aside, I like blue. But if you go smooth bezel and oyster bracelet you're just getting the same OP you already have with a date. Maybe do that and sell the OP? To me the classic DJ look is fluted bezel and jubilee. This is the way. I agree it can be a bit flashy and that WG bezel jacks up the price. When I was dreaming about a new one I thought it would be too flashy (and expensive) for me. Especially for my age and where I would wear it and all that Rawlex baggage. Luckily, I won't be getting one anytime soon. I then considered smooth bezel and oyster to wear the hell out of it like a tool watch. Those are the two configurations in my mind. That's all I got.

Or go vintage and get the 1603 with engine turned bezel- love that one.

I don’t love that bezel. I prefer the 1601. At this point I don’t think I’ll ever get a new a Rolex.

Come on, really? You don't like the 1603? All the DJs that have passed through my hands, and the only ones I have left are these two 1603s.

I agree, these watches are awful! Send them to me and I will dispose of them properly.

Engine turned > fluted every day of the week and twice on Sunday’s. They are unique in how they were made, not as common or flashy as the fluted counterparts, and just a visual treat. 👍

I don’t dislike the 1603. I just prefer the fluted bezel. I haven’t looked at many of them so maybe it will grow on me. Those are all beautiful and I would happily wear any of them.

I was just teasing you, of course. It's good that everyone has different tastes.

I also have 7,25 inch wrist and have the Datejust 126234, which is absolutely perfect. I have also tried on a 41mm and it felt way too big.

I’m not one for modern Rolex but that’s really pretty

I have 7.75” wrists and find the 41 to big. Even the 39mm Explorer is boarder line imo. The 36mm DJ is perfect on most wrists.

Going to see the local to me Rawlexx Bro Monday in El Paso... he has a 41 and a 36 in stock so I can see how they look even though between my brain and 99% of the comments in this thread 36 is appearing to be The Way.

Seriously leaning into the Bright Black dial, smooth bezel, Oyster bracelet and of course 36mm.

Already started laying the groundwork for a possible new watch inbound with The Wife this evening:

She- "By the way, did you get the taxes done? April is right around the corner."
Me- "Interesting you mention that... I did."
She- "Oh, how bad is it this year?"
Me- "Actually it's in our favor."
She- "Great, how much?"
Me- "Enough that I am thinking my left wrist deserves a gift from the Swiss."
She- "Oh christ."
Me- "Look at the upside... you could have a husband that's looking into skinny jeans, testosterone therapy and pre-owned super cars."
She- "Luxury watches aren't that different sweetheart."

That went well.

It’s a bit weird with the 39mm Explorer. My father-in-law also have big wrists, probably also close to 8 inches, and his Explorer 39 looks right on him but is by no means a small watch. A 40mm Submariner on the other hand looks small on him.

I have a 7,5 inch wrist and i tried both. I much prefer the smaller 36mm version. I find the 41 unnecessary big.

@SC1 You need to get into the eBay stalking vintage life. It’s more fun. I think…
