Is that an aftermarket bezel that looks like a PO bezel?

Personally I think the 42mm PO is a classic...

This. Do you want a ringer, or the thinger?

Actually it looks like a real PO bezel.. I didn't know it could be swapped. I personally do not like the look of the modification.

Ahh I thought so you posted it while I was writing the post.
Original for reference.

This bit.
Would like to know if that's an OEM bezel. It seems too singular an occurrence to be a straight swap. Hopefully the Minds can inform?

The 2254 is super classic as are the 1st gen PO's.

If it were me I'd restore the 2254 to factory and add the PO to the line. While similar(ish) watches they're still super different and easy to appreciate independently or as a duo.

Thank you much for the input. Was thinking of doing exactly that. Already broke down and bought a gently used orange PO. Love it.

Perfect, you're already on your way! A word of warning however, this is a slippery slope!

Enjoy!

It’s a personal thing, but I like the ProPlan. In fact,
It’s my all time favourite watch. I love the coin edge PO bezel with the slimmer lugs of the Professional case.

I'm thinking of removing the bezel from my 2254.50. Think it might look cool. I don't suppose anyone has a photo of one without?

I have a 2254 and honestly, I love the PO bezel mod. If you were really going to use it underwater, the coin edge is much more functional. Great blend of the 2 designs - a watchmaker can always swap them back if you go to sell.

Yes agree it does look good, but I just saw a photo of a 2254 without the bezel and I think it looks even cooler. Once I can get to a watchmaker, I think I'll take it off and see how I go!

The Seamaster 50th anniversary looks great with the all-black 24 hour bezel insert. I've been thinking about doing that mod as I've never liked the OEM black/steel contrasting bezel insert. This photo more than confirms my thinking. I presume the all-black bezel is aftermarket as I don't think Omega ever made an all-black bezel insert for that watch. If I may ask, where did you pick it up? Thanks in advance.

Indeed, it is aftermarket. I purchased it on ebay of all places. From memory it was only around £20 or so. I thought that it was worth a try and I can always change back to the OEM insert at any time. Glad you like it!
