I would welcome opinions on this one. Recently serviced and all original. Owner has assured me that it has been recently serviced and in great condition.

I have read a number of previous posts, here and on other sites, that suggest there could be challenges with availability and cost of spares.

I would be interested to learn what, if any, reservations you might have.

    Thanks in advance.

In terms of the movement, yes the 268 has many parts discontinued, so if you need something a donor watch in good condition is always helpful.

My only concern is that whoever serviced the watch didn't bother to replace the case gasket or ultrasonic the case. A "clean" movement in a dirty case with an old gasket doesn't sit well with me.

I would ask for proof that the watch was serviced, since as gator points out the case was not cleaned, and gasket was not replaced. Also it's difficult to tell from these photos, but it looks like dried oils in a couple of the jewels.

Take the service claim with a grain of salt unless they can show you proof.

    Cheers, Al
