i struck out on the first purchase, but luckily I made sure to buy a watch with a return policy.

I want a nice original watch that will hold its value
Are either of these two worth purchasing? If so, what’s an estimate on what I should bid to own either/or?

    Thank you in advance,

    Nick

First one is a redial IMO, look at how subdial markers "float" on air instead of touching the edges as they should, plus font doesn't look right. Hands dubious, look too short. Crown not original (yellow gold instead of pink as the rest of the watch, plus shape not right). So for me it's a NO.

Second one only one pic showing a not-so-excellent-as-claimed dial... NO.

I would like to stay under 1000 and yes I’m looking for a solid gold piece. It doesn’t have to be a mint collectors piece just a nice solid watch

If you want a quality solid gold piece for sub £1,000 then yes it can be done, in 9K more easily than 18k but you will need to put some work in. The servicing is the elephant in the room as it adds £150-250. Don't cheap out and buy purely on price, consider condition too. Don't trust unsubstantiated claims of servicing, people routinely lie, ask for proof or assume there was no service.
