Just after some opinions on Tudor Big Blocks 79160's-170's? Ive been lusting over them for a month or so, mainly 79170's with black dials and white subs. Ive done some research but can't really seem to figure out if the Valjoux movement is a good thing or a bad? Something about them is really doing it for me, i've worn a mates and love the wrist feel. I haven't had much luck in locating one in Australia though....if anyone knows of any that would be great. Opinions/criticisms good and bad much appreciated. Cheers
Nothing "bad" about a Valjoux. A good solid movement that'll never be hard to service. Sweet watch; good luck on the hunt!
So, I have had plenty of these over the years (79160, 79170 and 79180). I have had the 7169 as well (manual movement, older.) They are great watches. I don't worry about the Valjoux 7750. It is very reliable. Be sure you get what YOU like, by the way and then wear it until you pass it on to the next person.
The one above I sold as I soon tired of winding it. Seems like not a big deal, but it was. I moved on to these...
Hi I had many Big Block in years, personally i like very much the first you posted due to the bezel. A great watch on the wrist, don't pass unnoticed The movement is one of the best for price/quality, cheap services and easy to find spare parts.
