The dial has been refinished, and the seller states that!

Far too expensive for an example with a non-original dial.

I wouldn’t buy a refinished dial. Even if you can get it cheap, if you ever want to move it on it may be a problem. And this one isn’t cheap

they are in top league as far as price is concerned
this month, my vintage vc factory serviced, cost 4k+ (serviced at switzerland), just to get an idea
omega factory service usually is $750-1000 ish
in very very general extrapolation, for comparable timepieces, everything vc usually costs x4 of omega in my guesstimate

I love vintage VC but this would be on the pricey side even with an original dial. Which is not what you have here.

Thanks chaps. I know originality is important to you guys. But I am not keen on patina. Yes, I am a peasant. ;)

USD <8k if not original buckle included, preferably ~6k

So 10% discount puts it at top money. Or there abouts.

I consider these estimates to be far too high. Consider, among other things, that the cal. P1019 is arguably the least desirable V&C automatic caliber. It was sandwiched in between their high-class bumper movement, and the 1071/72 calibers that were among the very best produced during the peak of early-mid 20th century watchmaking. The latter two also featured beautiful gold guilloche rotors, with AP and Patek Philippe being the only other manufacturers to employ such extravagant finishing.

Furthermore, judged by the modest quality photos, the rest of the watch is not in especially fine condition.

You can look at auction results (which often tend to be inflated) of the same reference, and note that even in recent years, good original examples have typically sold for <$5000.

As just one example, this very similar watch, with the same movement, original, and in better condition, sold recently through a major auction house for ~$5100 including the buyer's premium!

In my view, the watch being considered by the OP is worth no more than $3500.
