The square below the 12 with the lumen is throwing me off. Is this original dial? SeaAuto3.jpg SeaAuto2.jpg SeaAuto6.jpg SeaAuto4.jpg SeaAuto7.jpg SeaAuto8.jpg SeaAuto1.jpg

my feeling - it's redone. Probably it was very deteorited two tone dial. To cover imperfection on the dial it was painted in matt white color.

It would surprise me if this is repainted. If you look at the Seamaster texts from this thread then your watch appears to have the same font as one of mine. The tick marks look even as well. Very hard to redo a dial like this on a textured surface.

As you've got lume on every hour marker, you'd want something at 12. As that is a number on your dial, there is nowhere to put the lume so they added that square. You do see squares like that on other dials.

I couldn't say for certain without having the dial in hand but, I would vote this is an original dial.

    Cheers, Chris

    What he said.

Honeycomb dials are nearly impossible to redial properly, but the missing lume dots and the bright white colour makes me pretty certain it has been cleaned at some point.

I thought it might have been cleaned or just overexposed pictures? Probably not though.

look at the minute scale - it's very crooked from 10 to 20 min and from 45 to 55 min. Also, look at "G" on Omega and on first "A" on Automatic. It is a good redial but not a perfect one.

Temprus - you really need to stop throwing redial accusations in nearly every thread you post in.

I realise that you work as a watchmaker, but looking through some of your post history it is evident that you are not capable of consistently judging whether or not a dial has been tampered with or not.

This is a tough one. The minute ticks are uneven, specially around 11, and the dial looks too clean and white. On the other hand, the text looks good, and the lume within the metal ticks seems to be there, but looks like was scraped and partially eliminated in the past. All in all I would say that IF it is a redial it is a REALLY good one. Most likely original, with some defects in the minute ticks. As our friend Conelpueblo says, it could have been cleaned in the past. I tend to agree with him.

Dial looks original to me, but I'd say probably cleaned at some point. There is a slight difference in the white colour around the text areas of the dial.

I think that's an original dial. The slight inconsistencies are a result of printing on an uneven surface.
