Its not an established model line piece, and its not a chronometer, and its not an automatic which takes some of the shine off and puts it in the not really collected category. It is a thin dress watch with a simple gold case, but that's about all it has going for it, so compared to a Geneve, Seamaster, Constellation or even early chronometer it just falls a little flat. Nothing wrong with it, just no selling point that jumps out at you.
Consider a 2799 Constellation De Luxe like Dennis'
- Its a bumper automatic, something rather uncommon and not seen these days
- Its a chronometer
- Its part of a famous model line (constellation)
- It has a stunningly designed dial
- Its known and collectable
So it has a lot of things to like about it aside from it being solid gold.
